The CFA Program
The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Program is designed to equip candidates with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete and excel in today's complex and evolving investment industry. It is a self-study, three-level exam that tests the fundamentals of investment tools, company valuation, portfolio management, and wealth planning. Whether an individual is an aspiring or practicing investment professional, the CFA Program offers a way to move forward and achieve professional goals.
The curriculum is developed by CFA Institute, one of the world's leading associations of investment professionals. By enlisting the investment industry's brightest minds to continually improve the CFA Program, CFA Institute ensures that the curriculum is always relevant and provides real-world skills in investment analysis.
What is a CFA Charter?
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter is a designation given to those who have completed the CFA® Program and completed acceptable work experience requirements. The CFA Program is a three-part exam that tests the fundamentals of investment tools, valuing assets, portfolio management, and wealth planning.
CFA charterholders earn the right to use the CFA designation after program completion, application, and acceptance by CFA Institute. They are qualified to work in senior and executive positions in investment management, risk management, asset management, institutional sales, private equity and private wealth management.
Benefits of Being a CFA Charterholder

The CFA Program provides a strong foundation for advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills. Charterholders enter today's market desk-ready.
Relevant in a Variety of Career Paths
CFA charterholders work as research analysts, portfolio managers, and enjoy careers in asset management, investment banking, commercial banking, and consulting.
Value in an Evolving Industry
The CFA® designation is a mark of distinction globally. Investment firms know it represents a higher standard of knowledge and commitment.
Why the CFA Level 1 Pass Rate Remains Low
Despite growing global interest in the CFA® Program, only 35%–45% of candidates typically clear Level 1.
The low pass rate is not a reflection of a candidate's intelligence, but rather of structural challenges in the learning approach. Most students come from a background of structured, classroom-based learning. Suddenly transitioning to a self-paced, self-managed learning model — without guidance or accountability — leads to inconsistency, knowledge gaps, and lack of direction.
CFA MasterTrack by Krawl Edutech solves this problem. We combine expert-led live sessions, strategic planning, and personalized support — restoring the structure, clarity, and discipline required to succeed.

Q&A: Before You Join CFA
When can I take the CFA exam?
Undergraduate students are eligible to register and sit for the exam in any of the offered exam cycles (February, May, August, or November) as long as you are within 23 months of graduation.
How much study time is involved?
A candidate should plan to devote about 300 hours of study time in pursuit of success on the Level I exam. This includes 10–20 hours of a Practical Skills Module that provides hands-on application of the material.
Is there a best time to take the CFA exam?
Circumstances differ for everyone, but students in their third year may benefit from sitting the exam in August — allowing focused study time while avoiding conflict with academic exams and positioning results for fall internship applications.
If I pass Level I while in college, when can I move to Level II?
You may register and sit for the Level II exam while still at university, but you must have received your undergraduate degree before your Level III exam date.
How often can I attempt the CFA exam?
Candidates are permitted to take the exam twice per calendar year (when applicable), but not in consecutive windows or windows six months or less apart. A maximum of six attempts per exam level is allowed.
Are there any other rules?
Only individuals that meet all admission criteria, including professional conduct adherence, and are not subject to a suspension or prohibition are eligible to register and take the exam.
CFA Exam Eligibility Policy
CFA Institute has extended CFA Program candidate eligibility to include university students with two years remaining in their undergraduate studies. This policy change provides students the opportunity to use Level I of the CFA Program as a clear signal to employers that they are serious about a career in the investment industry.
