Anthropic IPO Dubbed 'Most Ridiculous' of Year by Analyst
A senior analyst at Constellation Research characterized Anthropic's potential public offering as a 'ridiculous IPO' for 2026, citing the AI firm's rapid revenue growth, high valuation, and significant capital raises from major tech companies. The…
Ray Wang, a lead analyst at Constellation Research, has publicly stated that Anthropic’s anticipated initial public offering (IPO) will likely be the “most ridiculous IPO” of 2026. This assessment stems from the artificial intelligence company’s valuation, which he projects could reach USD 100 billion, alongside its high burn rate.
Anthropic has attracted significant investment, securing capital from technology giants like Google, Amazon, and Salesforce. The company's revenue has grown rapidly, from nearly USD 0 to a projected USD 500 million, while its valuation has soared. Wang pointed out that despite this impressive top-line expansion and substantial funding, Anthropic is still consuming capital at a fast pace.
The analyst's view is that the company’s current value reflects considerable speculation on future generative AI developments. He argues that the market is valuing Anthropic not on current fundamentals but on its potential to become a leading player in the AI sector, pushing its valuation far beyond traditional metrics for a company at its stage.
