Bitcoin recently moved past the $80,000 mark, and Ethereum traded near $2,620, showing strength even as the Federal Reserve maintained a hawkish stance. This upward trajectory for major cryptocurrencies unfolded despite broader market concerns about interest rate policy. Additionally, a legislative setback for the CLARITY Act, aimed at providing regulatory guidance for digital assets, did not deter the rally.
Market participants observed Bitcoin reaching $80,040 on September 19, a 1.2% increase over the previous 24 hours. Ethereum concurrently advanced by 0.8% to $2,618. The overall market capitalization for cryptocurrencies also registered a gain, rising 1.05% to reach USD 2.6 trillion. This resilience suggests a decoupling from traditional market sensitivities to central bank rhetoric and a continued demand within the digital asset space, even amidst regulatory clarity challenges.
